چکیده

Introduction: Orofacial clefts are the most common craniofacial birth defects, affecting a significant number of individuals worldwide. The alveolar cleft is developmental defect that affects process maxilla and often associated with lip palate. Methods: In this case report, we present 20-year-old female patient who underwent secondary reconstruction using autologous iliac bone grafting. aim procedure was to restore function form maxillary arch, facilitate ridge augmentation for further prosthetic rehabilitation, repair nasal floor, orthodontic treatment. Results: successful in achieving desired outcomes, patient's occlusal relationship improved. Additionally, alar base symmetry enhanced, speech Conclusion: Alveolar grafting approach treating clefts. can arch rehabilitation effectiveness should be monitored closely ensure optimal outcomes. Radiographic comparison of the repaired bone in maxillary alveolar cleft of dog by tissue engineering and autogenous bone grafting techniques

BACKGROUND: Dental disease, trauma and maxillofacial surgeries can cause alveolar bone defects. Among different kinds of treatment, autogenous bone grafts is accepted as a golden standard. On the other hand, because of limitation of treatment with autogenous bone grafts, osteogenic cells derived from stem cells are suggested. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to compare the mean density of ...

Prosthetic treatment using an osseointegrated implant after secondary bone grafting of a residual alveolar cleft: a case report.

Conventionally, for dental reconstruction after bone grafting of the congenital residual alveolar cleft, a fixed prosthesis or removable partial denture is used. In this paper, residual alveolar cleft reconstruction with an osseointegrated implant following secondary bone grafting is described. The patient underwent secondary bone grafting of the residual alveolar cleft at the age of 18 years. ...

Cancellous bone grafting in alveolar cleft repair: new experience.

Bone grafting plays an important role in the dental rehabilitation of patients with alveolar cleft. During the period between 1993 and 2001, 12 patients with alveolar clefts have been treated in our clinic. Cancellous iliac bone grafts were used in all 12 patients. Seven patients had left and five patients had right complete unilateral cleft lip and complete cleft palate operations. All patient...

Three-Dimensional Changes of Maxilla after Secondary Alveolar Cleft Repair: Differences Between rhBMP-2 and Autologous Iliac Crest Bone Grafting

BACKGROUND Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein (rhBMP)-2 has been used as an alternative to autologous bone transferring, a standard method of treatment. However, its potential adverse effect on anterior maxillary arch is unknown. Thus, the purpose of this study was to quantify sagittal and transversal changes of anterior maxilla after secondary alveolar cleft repair using traditional ...

A Case Report of Pulmonary Alveolar Microlithiasis

Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis is a rare autosomal recessive disease characterized by the formation of calcium phosphate deposition in the alveoli. Although the disease most often occurs in children, most patients with the disease are diagnosed in adulthood due to the slow progression of the disease inside the lungs. In childhood, it often causes no symptoms, and changes in the lung parenchy...
